FSB Scotland Welcomes U-turn on Capital Gains Tax |

The Federation of Small Businesses Scotland has welcomed the UK Government’s changes to its plans to reform capital gains tax (CGT). But Scotland’s biggest business organisation warned that small businesses’ trust in the UK Government has been damaged by the original proposals and the uncertainty over revisions to them.

Proposal for the UK Government to introduce a reduced rate of VAT on Tourism Services
The FSB in Highlands & Islands Region takes the view that the UK Government should consider reducing the rate of VAT applied to tourism services. Of the 25 countries in the European Union, 21 apply a reduced rate of VAT to hotel services and 12 apply a reduced rate to restaurant meals.
